Leadership Forum: Using Strategic Foresight to Envision Future Health Experiences (Invite Only)

The past year has taught us that preparation, resilience, the agility to pivot and bring new solutions to market quickly while also focusing our long term strategy on what matters most are all key. In a system mired by frustrations, complexities, regulations, and shifting priorities we have no shortage of obstacles to overcome. We also are aware of the real and present opportunity in front of us to fundamentally improve people’s lives. How do we best guide our organizations to manifest a desired future state? How do we react to current trends and signals of where things may head in the future? How do we appropriately prepare for various potential future events?

Futures thinking, strategic foresight and the concept of exploring potential horizons are all about leading discussions that look progressively further and further out into what “future health experiences” might look like, while also exploring potential implications. We will lead the group in a discussion that takes us progressively further out onto a limb, metaphorically speaking. We will start in the near term where things feel very stable, and then move to out to the tips of the branches, where the ideas are a bit more tenuous, and more likely to yield unexpected results.

In practical terms, this means talking about the near term (Horizon 1) where we can still see how our work is manifesting and change feels linear and predictable, to a further out (Horizon 2) likely more discontinuous future where equilibrium is punctuated by events, technologies, attitudes, generational shifts and the like that will likely make it different from what we may expect.

Join us and leaders across the health ecosystem on this important journey as we collaborate to understand and define the future of health that we would like to see.
