Experts define health equity as the notion that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be healthy.  This requires replacing obstacles that prevent health and wellness with solutions that increase access to nutritious food, good jobs with fair pay, quality education and housing, convenient transportation, safe environments, and patient-centered healthcare.  With so many opportunities, where should we begin?  This intimate conversation between an award winning poet and storyteller, a food justice pioneer and entrepreneur, and health systems innovation leader will shed light on five critical components that any solution must integrate to advance health equity. Speaking about their own experiences, they will talk about their involvement in a unique social innovation program, Ward Infinity, with goals to advance health equity in Washington, D.C.’s most underinvested communities using human-centered design.
