Kelly Dumke

Kelly Dumke has worked internationally in public health focusing on systems change that confronts upstream root causes of disease. Kelly's academic background combines a doctorate in public health focused on systems change and chronic disease prevention, a master’s degree specializing in public health and nutrition, and a bachelor’s of science in neuro and behavioral science. She has spent the last several years developing strategies to curb the growing obesity epidemic for the European Commission’s Platform for Diet, Physical Activity, and Health; researching and evaluating interventions at the Childhood Obesity Research Center; and developing policy and systems approaches to address childhood obesity with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Choose Health LA Kids Program. In 2016, Kelly was named to the University of California’s 30 Under 30, which honors young people working to solve the global food crisis.
Kelly is currently working for Kaiser Permanente’s Center for Healthy Living to develop prevention and disease management programs for the Southern California region. Her research and practice interests focus on addressing root causes of some of the most commonly treated chronic diseases, including a focus on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Kelly is a California-native, dual U.S./Irish citizen with a passion for public health, systems change, and human centered design.
