Robin Hayashi
Hopelab
Design Lead
Robin Hayashi is a Design Lead at Hopelab. With a background in brand, visual communication and human-centered design, she is equal parts graphic designer, design researcher, and strategist. Especially in the face of many other concerns and constraints, she continuously pushes teams, partners, and herself towards design excellence and thoughtfulness. Robin came to Hopelab after seven years at IDEO.org, IDEO, and MIT. Her work largely focuses on using design for gender equality, whether through leading teams to design access to reproductive health for teens or by bringing visibility to the gendered assumptions around care work. She infuses the design process with playfulness, and she believes that for every three hours talking, you should spend one hour making. She received her BFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work has been recognized by Fast Company and Core77.
